Harmoniously combining a Maldivian paradise with contemporary indulgences, Maafushivaru is the very epitome of an island hideaway. With barefoot luxury surrounded by idyllic turquoise water and the archipelago’s finest coral reefs, its secret delight is a beautiful romantic and uninhabited sister island.
Maafushivaru is a small island with two stunning beaches and a crystal clear turquoise lagoon. There is a house reef for amazing snorkelling and if you fancy one of the dive centre’s boat trips, there is a great chance of seeing turtles, rays and whale sharks. The main restaurant is the Cuisine Gallery, buffet style, which offers various cuisines with local Maldivian flavours. There is also an option of the à la carte menu.
A visit to the intimate over-water Japanese sushi/teppanyaki restaurant called 135 degrees east, is recommended at least once during your stay.
Maafushivaru’s also offers its beautiful uninhabited sister island, Lonubo. For an authentic experience, take a short boat trip across to this tiny desert island for romantic picnics, candlelit dining or even a wonderful overnight stay.
The villas offer style complete with Maldivian touches. Beach Villas have a semi open-air bathroom, while Pool Villas are in groups of two with a shared pool. These are ideal for couples travelling together.
The stunning Water Villas sit on stilts over the crystal clear lagoon, with floor-to-ceiling windows and direct access to the water.
